Belfort Furniture opened its doors in the Washington, DC area in 1982, and has expanded over the years from a small showroom to a 100,000 square foot retail destination. A family-owned and operated business, Belfort has been a proud member of our Rowe family of retailers for 15 years. The showroom is dedicated to 500 room settings that feature the best in quality home furnishings, including a Rowe gallery and wall display of Rowe and Robin Bruce fabric samples to inspire the customers and designers that browse the selection daily.

We’re here to assist customers with their home furnishing needs with 4 easy ways to shop, however they feel most comfortable. We love to assist customers via their preferred method whether that be in-store, online, by phone or through our free design help web page for help with a room plan. In-store and virtual appointments are also available through a scheduling link via our website.

At Belfort Furniture we have a diverse staff who love what they do! We love when customers find the right Belfort consultant for their personality, project and style. Our team is focused on creating beautiful and functional rooms to enhance the lives of our customers and community.

How does your shop make customers feel?

We want our customers to feel at home when visiting any of our 4 showrooms in our unique campus location. For our customers, touring our showrooms and inspiring room settings is a fun experience without the stress! In 2018 we celebrated the grand opening of the expansion and renovation of our two-story main showroom, with Drew and Jonathan Scott! The main showroom features a wine bar as a nod to our sister company Stone Tower Winery, where we offer customers a complimentary glass of wine or water just as you would offer a drink to a guest visiting your home.

What's on your store playlist?

We love to keep it upbeat and happy. You will find a mix of oldies from all different eras along with some current faves to keep the mood light.

What are you looking forward to showcasing next season?

People are using their homes in all different ways now so the focus is on comfort and function. Revamping or creating home office areas/work spaces is top of mind — think desks, bookshelves, good lighting, a comfy chair and things that make a cool Zoom background! We are seeing a trend towards warmer colors (even warmer greys) and continuing to see lots of blue. Soft, cozy fabrics and performance fabrics are what consumers and designers are leaning to for their upholstery.

Who’s your celebrity dream customer?

This is a tough one! We have had so many of our favorite designers visit already. Our store is close to DC so perhaps Anthony Fauci or Kamala Harris may need some new furniture.

With plenty of space in our large showroom, you'll see customers socially distancing while shopping and designing their dream rooms. As you pass by our Rowe gallery in our main showroom you'll see a large fabric wall filled with a beautiful array of fabric options, and certainly a batch will be pulled onto the work table for a client designing their new sofa!
