Bondars opened in 1959 in Calgary, Alberta, inspired by the vision of Sam Bondars to bring quality furniture to the local community. Today, Bondars is one of the top home furnishings destinations in Western Canada, representing over sixty years of customers enjoying a range of furniture from traditional classics to contemporary showstoppers. Bondars is a longtime member of the Rowe family of retailers, with a relationship stretching back over 25 years. A family-run business, Sam’s son Stewart and granddaughter Jordan own and operate the 33,000 ft showroom, which offers home furnishings that reflect a variety of lifestyles and backgrounds. The shop includes in-house team designers and experienced staff who take pride in continuing the tradition of providing quality home furnishings with unprecedented customer service and satisfaction.

What makes your shop unique?

We are very focused on merchandising and helping customers visualize what their room/home could look like. Our store is 33,000 square feet so the overall selection & variety definitely sets us apart. We also try to buy very unique and colourful art pieces to fill our walls.

What's on your store playlist?

Home Again by Michael Kiwanuka, Honeybee by The Head and the Heart, Folklore byTaylor Swift...our playlists are usually more chill and folk oriented.

What are you looking forward to showcasing next season?

More colour in the showroom. Having more fun with prints and bringing more textures into the showroom, through accent pillows, small accessories or popping colour on the accent chairs. The Robin Bruce Madeline express frame just hit our floor and that green colour really stands out!
