Fowler Brothers Co. is a historic shop originally founded in 1885 in Chattanooga, Tennessee by James G. Sterchi, who began the business by selling goods door to door out of a horse-drawn buggy. The shop has been a member of the Rowe family of retailers for over 7 years and is now operated by members of the Fowler family, including president and CEO Carter Fowler, who has headed the business since it was known as The Furniture Shoppe and The Patio Shop. In 2020, the shop rebranded back to its roots as Fowler Brothers Co. to highlight the company’s rich history of providing quality furniture to the Chattanooga area for over 135 years. The Fowler Brothers’ commitment to always providing exceptional craftsmanship and service has led to strong customer loyalty that has held steadfast for generations.

How does your shop make customers feel?

Our customers feel at ease from the moment they walk in the door. With staff just around the corner to guide you through the showroom, provide information on best-selling items and address any questions, there is no pressure or sales gimmicks pushed onto customers. We let our products speak for themselves, with top brands from authorized dealers all over the nation.

What's on your store playlist?

We use a mixed playlist including 2010s pop, alternative rock and pop, coffee shop indie, smooth jazz, indie pop chillout, folk modern, and more – it is a really fun and upbeat blend!

What are you looking forward to showcasing next season?

We look forward to showcasing all the top, innovative products that are provided by Rowe and other authorized dealers across the nation. A product that we see obtaining more and more interest is Crypton fabric. We hope to continue to increase inventory and product types with this fabric in the future.

Who’s your celebrity dream customer?

Brad Pitt would be pretty cool. He is a huge fan of Stickley furniture and the Arts and Crafts style.
