Home Again is a family-run business that has been serving the Modesto, CA area for 19 years, since 2002. Owned by a mother and daughter team of teachers with a family history in the furniture business, Home Again has been a member of the Rowe family of retailers since 2020. The shop offers a wide selection of furnishings, as well as unique gifts and accessories for every room in the house. They take pride in supporting locally sourced products as well as pieces made in the USA such as Rowe custom furniture.

What makes your shop unique?

We have our vignettes all decked out and each vignette has its own vibe. We are local and we know the people coming in to shop, since they are our friends and neighbors. We also have an “Attic” in the back featuring all red-lined items at 50% off. Some customers are regulars and just shop back there; other customers love our showroom featuring the better and best furniture.

How does your shop make customers feel?

We really try hard to greet everyone, give them space to shop and then help them with everything they need. We are not on commission, so we do not have an “up-selling” system. There is a Starbucks next door, and we often see people grabbing a coffee and then taking a “loop” around our store. We are constantly adding new goods and changing it up, encouraging our customers to see the new look.

What's on your store playlist?

We have a chic cafe playlist with a good variety. We’ll play an indie song, followed up by a hip country song, and then go into a new version of John Lennon’s “Imagine,” etc…

I have always been a fan of Bono from U2. I imagine he would come in and tell us, “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For”...
